Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture

Acupuncture provides gentle and personalized therapy in a relaxed and nurturing setting designed to bring balance and promote healing. It allows the body to heal itself. It can also stimulate nerves, increase blood circulation, relieve muscle spasms, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the immune system. Application of thin disposable needles gently inserted on the body create a state of ultimate relaxation resulting in renewed energy and well being.

Chinese Herbs

Ancient as well as modern formulas are created from granulated herbs to treat a myriad of conditions. Herbs serve as a reinforcement to acupuncture. They are often concentrated food sources which focus on restoring balance, energy, body and spirit to maintain health, strengthen immunity and resist disease. More than 3,000 herbs and 300 mineral and animal extracts are used in more than 400 different formulas. Formulas can be taken in the form of teas, powders, and pills.

Cupping

Glass cups are applied to the skin and a vacuum is created between the cup and body. Cupping helps alleviate pain and brings toxins to the surface so that they can be released from the body. This can relive muscle aches and reduce congestion in the lungs. Also, it feels amazing!

Moxibustion: The Power of Mugwort

Moxibustion is a technique that involves the burning of Mugwort, a small spongy herb, over specific points to facilitate healing. The process brings heat into the body that will remain for days. Because our bodies are more susceptible certain times of the year to pathogens entering, Moxa is performed on a regular basis at the change of the seasons. In conjunction with acupuncture it can be very effective for many diseases and conditions.

Gua Sha

Gua Sha means to “scrape toxins”. The skin is gently scraped with a tool to bring toxins to the surface allowing the body to eliminate them. This is performed along many areas of the body which include the neck, shoulders, and back. This can relieve muscle aches sore throats and congestion in the lungs.
